The end has just begun in Dante's Peak, Universal Pictures' epic adventure that will capture the awesome power of nature's
worst nightmare:a volcanic eruption. Brosnan stars as U.S. Geological Survey Volcanologist Harry Dalton and Hamilton as Rachel
Wando, mayor of a small town in the Pacific Northwest, where a long-dormant mountain is ready to rock. Harry and Rachel finally
convince the unbelieving populace that the big one is about to hit and that they need to evacuate immediately, only
to discover her two children have gone up the mountain to get their grandmother. With earth's clock racing against them, they
must rescue the kids and grandma before the volcano explodes in a fury of flame and ash a million times more powerful than
an atomic bomb.

"This is a movie that will really get the audience's adrenaline pumping," says director Roger Donaldson. "Not only is
it a roller coaster ride from the first frame to the last, but the underlying story is based in reality." Budgeted at $95
million, Dante's Peak is scheduled for a Spring 1997 release. The screenplay was written by Leslie Bohem. The producers are
Gale Anne Hurd and Joseph M. Singer, with Ilona Herzberg serving as executive producer.
